Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how NomadMap ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the NomadMap mobile application and the nomadm.app website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address, and (for Google) your profile photo. You can also browse as a guest, in which case we create an anonymous account with no personal details.
Profile information you provide. Display name, profile photo, bio, home country, countries you have visited or plan to visit, timezone, and links to your social profiles. This information is visible to other signed-in users of the Service.
Content you create. Posts and photos pinned to countries, photo albums, private country notes, and messages (including images) you exchange with other users in one-to-one chats.
Technical information. A push-notification token for your device, your app language, and the time you last used the app. We do not collect precise location data — countries are only ever marked manually by you.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: your map, profile, posts, albums, and chats.
- To show your public profile and content to other users, which is the social purpose of the app.
- To deliver push notifications about messages, follows, comments, and reactions. You can disable these in your device settings.
- To keep the Service safe: reviewing reported content and enforcing our Terms.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show advertising.
Where your data is stored
The Service is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Messaging). Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and processed in accordance with Google's Firebase privacy documentation. Data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence.
What other users can see
Your profile (display name, photo, bio, countries, social links) and your posts are visible to signed-in users of the Service. Chat messages are visible only to you and the person you are chatting with. Private country notes and private country ratings are visible only to you. You can block any user to prevent them from contacting you or seeing your activity, and you can report users or content from within the app.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, your countries, your content, and your sign-in from our systems.
If you can no longer access the app, email us at sherkhan.zhantali@gmail.com from the address linked to your account and we will delete your account for you. We aim to complete email deletion requests within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child is using the Service, please contact us and we will remove the account.
App permissions
- Photo library — used only when you choose a photo for your profile, a post, an album, or a chat message.
- Notifications — used to deliver messages and social activity alerts. Optional.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
